Strategy bought 811 bitcoin for $65.5 million and Strive added 124 BTC last week, with the two firms together adding 935 coins and Strategy now holding 849,327 BTC.

Strategy bought another 811 bitcoin last week. The Saylor-led firm spent about $65.5 million at an average of $80,846 per coin between October 26 and November 1, according to its 8-K filing on Monday. That brings total holdings to 849,327 BTC, bought for roughly $64.1 billion at an average of $75,451.

The money didn’t come from new preferred stock this time. Strategy sold about 1.18 million shares of MSTR common stock for roughly $164 million, sent $65.5 million into bitcoin, and parked the remaining $98.5 million in USD cash. It also spent around $208 million buying back about 2.1 million shares of its STRC preferred.

Strategy spent much of the year leaning on preferred issuance to fund purchases, and the company is now using the buyback to tidy up its preferred stack while still adding coins.

Saylor teased the purchase Sunday with his usual tracker chart and a line that made the rounds on X: “We found room for even more orange.”

The buy landed a few days after Strategy reported its third-quarter results on Thursday. Net income hit $19.5 billion, up from $2.79 billion a year earlier, driven by a $20.9 billion operating gain tied to the bitcoin price rising during the quarter. That gain is a paper one under fair-value accounting, not cash. Saylor called it the start of the next bitcoin bull market and pointed to bitcoin trading about 21% above its 200-week moving average. The same release said CFO Andrew Kang will step down November 5, with COO Reza Virasteh taking over the role in January.

Strategy shareholders also recently approved a proposal allowing four preferred stocks — STRF, STRC, STRK, and STRD — to accrue dividends daily, including weekends and holidays, with 99.3% of votes cast in favor. The change was intended to improve liquidity, reduce reinvestment delays, and increase price stability, while keeping dividend rates and total obligations unchanged. The new payment schedule remained subject to board approval and regulatory filings, with implementation expected to begin in November 2026 for STRC and January 2027 for the other preferred stocks.

Strive is still in the race for second place among public holders. The Matt Cole-run firm added 124 BTC between October 24 and 30 at about $80,526 each, lifting its stack to 43,124 BTC.

That’s a smaller buy than its previous week, when it added more than 6,000 coins, but Cole has been consistent about his approach. He has said the company is buying “hand over fist” when prices dip, and he has framed the funding model around perpetual preferred equity as a way to avoid forced selling.

Strive’s cash position slipped about $14 million to $490 million over the same stretch, and it still holds 505,000 shares of Strategy’s STRC.

Meanwhile, the biggest story in crypto last week wasn’t a buy. On October 29, Binance was hit by what it now estimates is a $6.3 billion security breach, one that started with a compromised DevOps laptop.

Blockchain analytics firms including Chainalysis and TRM Labs have linked the attack to North Korea’s TraderTraitor group, and the drain reportedly took about 20 minutes. Binance says it has frozen roughly $3 billion of the stolen funds and will cover losses from its SAFU fund and company reserves.

Strategy’s stock dropped about 9% last week and closed Friday at $130.51. The company still has about $18.6 billion of MSTR available under its ATM program, which means more buys are likely if the market cooperates.

Strive shares were down around 20% last week. At the time of writing, bitcoin is near $78,000.
